… Help Tibetan Children!

My friend Linda Wirt was this year for 4 month in India. She stayed mostly in the northern Part and volunteered there at different places, teaching English to Tibetan children, and helping out wherever it was needed. Children from Tibet love to learn English, and about their own culture and language. Many of them live in the Tibetan villages of northern India.

There, they have the opportunity to not only learn about their own culture, but also English, which will take them further and open up opportunities that were closed to them before. Knowing English means having the possibility to higher education and better paid jobs in the future.

But they come only with their clothes and few belongings from Tibet, and going to school does cost money, from books to clothes, to food, to teachers, to shelter.

SOS Children's Villages is dedicated since 1949 to help children, giving them a home, love, and education. In 1960 SOS Children's Village International got established and grew since then to one of the biggest helping organizations for children worldwide!

In 2002 SOS-Kinderdorf International awarded the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the world renowned humanitarian award, for extraordinary contributions towards alleviating human suffering.
